A gentle, hands-on Winter workshop where we’ll forage local bitter herbs, learn their digestive benefits and how to make bitters at home. Perfect for beginners and nature lovers wanting a practical skill for winter wellbeing.

Join Jo for a gentle, slow-paced foraging walk in Berwick, Northumberland. We will focus on safe, seasonal bitter herbs that support digestion and overall winter resilience (but you can bring your foraging questions too!). We’ll meet outdoors in a local green space and explore 3 wild plants that grow through the colder months which will support us through the Winter.

After the walk, we’ll settle somewhere cosy to learn the process of making bitters, how to adapt the recipe and why they’re so good for us. You’ll go home with a 20ml bottle that I’ve made, and a recipe card and ID sheet so you can get making at home!

This workshop is completely beginner-friendly; everything is provided. This particular workshop is not suited to dogs or children.

  • What to Bring: Sturdy shoes, warm layers, notebook (if you like!), small pruners and foraging basket/cloth bag (if you’d like to forage ingredients to take home)
